Ultra Zip Online Tutorial

This tutorial is for Ultra Zip users so that they can know and make use of the app better.

In this quick guide, we cover the following topics: free version vs full version, password-protected archives, create new archives, open archives, add files and folders to an archive, delete files from an archive, rename files in an archive and extract all.

How to Navigate?

This is a slide style web page. You can use your mouse scroll wheel to turn pages back and forth, or you can use the UP and DOWN key on your keyboard to do so.

Free Version VS Full Version

The free version is limited to opening, updating and extracting archives, while the full version unlocks all features and enables you to create new archives.

Note: you can update an archive after you open it. The modifications you made will be automatically saved.

What the Full Version Unlocks?

Create new archives

Create New Archives

Note: this feature is not available in the Free Version.

If you want to create a new archive file, simply click "New Zip" on the left panel. You will be prompted to specify the new archive's file name, and password if you want it to be a password-protected archive. With the file name and optional password, click the "Create" button then the new archive file is created, and opened for you.

With the new archive file open, you can add files, add folders, delete existing files and rename existing files in it. All your modifications will be automatically saved.

Open Archive

There are two ways for you to open an archive file. You can simply drag the file into the app, or you can click the "Open Archive" menu on the app's left panel and follow the instructions.

With the archive file open, you can view what items are in it. You can also add files, add folders, delete existing files and renaming existing files in it. All your modifications will be automatically saved.

Note: if it is a password-protected archive file, you DO NOT need the password to open it, but you do need to input the password to extract the content from it.

Add Files

With the new or existing archive file open, you can add files to the archive file by clicking "Add Files" button on the top toolbar. You can add more than one files into the archive file all at once.

Add Folder

With the new or existing archive file open, you can add a folder, including all the content in it, to the archive file by clicking "Add Folder" button on the top toolbar. You can only add one folder at one time.

Rename File

With an archive file open, you can rename a file by selecting the file and then clicking the "Rename" button on the top toolbar. You will be prompted to change the file name to what you expect it to be.

Delete File

With an archive file open, you can delete a file in it by selecting the file and then clicking "Delete" button on the top toolbar. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.

Extract All

With an archive file open, you extract all of its content by clicking the "Extract All" button on the top toolbar. You will be prompted to select a destination folder, and all the content in the archive file will be extracted there.
