Free Version VS Full Version

The free version can view over 200 file formats and is limited to viewing only, while the full version can open many more formats and do much more to the files.

In free version, when you open a file format which is supported in full version only, the app will show you the detailed properties of this file, and ask you to upgrade to view it.

Formats Supported

Ultra File Opener app can open over 380 file formats, which can be categorized as Office files, images, camera raw files, video files, audio files, archive files, partial files, portable executable files, eBook files and text files.

According with these categories, Ultra File Opener app provides the following features: Office file editors, image viewer, video/audio player, zip opener, partial downloaded file opener, executable file resource viewer, eBook reader and text editor.

We will go through all these features in the following slides.

Office File Editors

Ultra File Opener app provides word editor, spreadsheet editor and presentation editor to handle .DOCX, .DOC, .XLSX, .XLS and .PPTX files.

With word editor, you can create, edit, save and print Word (.DOCX and .DOC) files.

With spreadsheet editor, you can create, edit, save and print Excel (.XLSX and .XLS) files.
Note: the PRINT button is at the editor's left bottom corner.

With presentation editor, you can create, edit, save and print Powerpoint (.PPTX) files.
Note: Ultra File Opener presentation editor doesn't support .PPT format as of now.

Image Viewer

Ultra File Opener app uses Image Viewer to open image files and camera raw files. In image viewer, not only can you view them, you can also convert them into other formats, one by one or batch convert.

With image viewer, you can do the following actions to an image: zoom in/out, rotate left/right, turn pages if it's a multi-page image file, previous/next image file in the same folder, convert it to another format, and print the image file.

Batch Convert File Formats

The batch convert feature in image viewer enables you to convert all image files in one folder into files with another different format. The converted files are stored in a destination folder, which should be different with the original/source folder. This is a very convenient feature if you need to convert a large number of pictures.

Video/Audio Player

Video and Audio Player are free in both the free verision and the full version .

In video player, there is a panel displaying the file information on the left, while the player itself is on the right side. You can collapse/show the left panel (hide/show file information) by clicking the tree icon located at the left bottom corner. The three main buttons, "Stop", "Play/Pause" and "Open", are located at the middle bottom part of the player while the sound volume adjuster is to the right of the main buttons. In addition, there is a "full screen" button located at the right bottom corner of the player.

The audio player works in a similar way as the video player except that it doesn't have any graphics.

Zip Opener

With the zip opener in free version, you can only view what are inside the archive files, whether they are sub-folders or files while in full version, you can extract them to a folder and read/edit them.

Note: the zip opener in Ultra File Opener app doesn't compress files, but only decompress the archive files.

Partial Downloaded File Viewer

The partial downloaded file viewer can analyze the partially downloaded file and display to you its information, including the download URL and the download time. With those information, you can either copy the download URL to a browser and manually re-download the file, or even simpler, you can directly restart downloading the file from the app by clicking "Restart" button.

Executable File Resource Viewer

The portable executable file resource viewer will open a EXE file and display its resources, including bitmaps, strings, dialogs, icons, and so on.

eBook Reader

The eBook reader in Ultra File Opener is a e-reader with a complete feature set. There are three read mode for you to choose from: single page view, two page view and book view. You can also rotate the book clockwise or counterclockwise. Other than that, zoom in/out is a very convenient feature and bookmarks management feature is very useful. Lastly, you can print the book or convert it into a text file.

Text Editor

The text editor in Ultra File Opener app is a text editor with a complete feature set. "Wrap the line" and "Show line number" are two checkboxes at the right bottom corner. Cut, Copy, Paste, Redo, Undo, Enlarge font and Reduce font are located in the top menu bar. You can also print text files with it.
